Peelable Coating For Protecting Parts During Shipping, Storage And In Transit |
| |
ShipCoat_4960 is solvent based r Peelable coating for protecting parts during shipment, storage and in transit. 4960 is international standard for protecting parts. 4960 is very easy to apply strippable coating for the protection of substrates from scratching and marring .4960 is useful for substrate protection during polishing, handling and long term storage. |
| |
Available in transparent or solid colors, these attractive coatings not only protect, but are useful in product identification and inventory control. Numbers and information can easily be seen through the transparent coatings. ShipCoat_4960 protects items from rust and cushions items during handling, storage, and shipping. When it's time to use the item, just peel off the coating. |

Introduction: |
| |
4960 is an easy to apply, strippable coating to protect substrates from scratching and marring during handling and storage. Can be applied by spraying or dipping. Will not leave a residue. |
| |
It may also be used to protect various types of surfaces during industrial processing. ShipCoat_4960 air-dries quickly, leaving a tough, yet flexible coating that is easily removed from a variety of surfaces. |
| |
4960 represents the ultimate in solvent-based removable coating technology. It is stabilized against brittleness and is not softened or penetrated by most water-based compounds. |

Application: |
| |
Protective Coating ShipCoat_4960 should be used as received. It is applied by airless spray, brushing or dipping. The sprayed coating dries to touch in 10 minutes or less, depending on temperature and film thickness. 4960 should be applied to form a dry film in the range of 1 to 3 mil (.001" to .003") thick. Application temperature is ambient to no lower than 50 F, as drying times will be affected. |
| |
Application is easy. The coating does not adhere to the item's surface, but "envelopes" it in a protective jacket. Aluminum foil or a small piece of tape can be used to seal any crevices or holes that the plastic should not fill as it covers the item. |

Curing: |
| |
4960 will cure tack-free within 10 minutes after application. This is dependent upon temperature, humidity and thickness of coating. Deviations from application section will require adjustments in the curing times, as well as in the strip ability parameters. |
| |
Curing may be accelerated by forced drying. |
| |
It is imperative that 4960 be thoroughly cured and dry, with no solvent odor being emitted before an attempt is made to strip the coating from the substrate. Substrates should not be stored in airtight containers until the 4960 is completely cured. |

Storage: |
| |
4960 should be stored in the original shipping container with temperatures between 60 and 90 degrees F, in an explosion proof environment. Containers should be sealed until needed. Protection from freezing is necessary. |
