| |
1. Use compressed air or a damp cloth to remove any plastic filler dust, primer dust, and substantial dirt. |
| |
Contamination from the vehicle surfaces. Also, remove any incidental primer overspray.
| |
2. Mask the critical edge of the repair area with tape and 18 inch masking paper. |
| |
3. Tape down the back edge of the paper on adjoining panels to prevent overspray migration under the paper |
| |
3.Now thoroughly rinse with water. Make sure all solvent and paint residue are removed. |
| |
Application Equipment: |
| |
Peelkleer can be easily applied with standard spray equipment. Since this is a water-based product, it is
Advisable to use a dedicated piece of equipment.
- Conventional spray guns (gravity or siphon feed) and HVLP guns are recommended. Fluid tip orifice
Size should be 1.8 - 2.2mm. Spray pressure should be 30-40psi at the gun. |
| |
Applying peelkleer Overspray Masking Liquid-Dry: |
1. Hold gun 12-14 inches from the vehicle surface. |
| |
2. Apply a single 3-5 mil wet coat, with a 50% overlap spray pattern, to all surfaces of the vehicle that
Require overspray protection, while making certain to cover the edge of the masking paper. |
| |
3. Allow to dry for 20-30 minutes at 70F and 50% humidity. Dry time will increase significantly at
Lower ambient temperatures, lower substrate temperatures, higher humidity, and if a heavy coat has been.
Applied. Once the product has flowed out bubble free, the use of air movement or heat can be used to
Accelerate the dry time. |
| |
4. Inspect the vehicle surfaces for any unprotected spots and touch up with. |
| |
5. Remove from area to be painted by wiping it off first with a wet rag or sponge. Solvent
Cleaners will not remove PEELKLEER overspray! Then prepare repair area as needed. |
| |
Removing Overspray Masking Liquid-Dry: |
| |
1. After the painting and bake cycle process is complete, remove the masking paper and tape Surrounding the repair area.
| |
2. Should any thick runs or drips be present, remove with masking tape? Simply press any Masking tape over these areas, and peel off the thick film.
| |
3. Mist the entire vehicle with water and allow the vehicle to remain wet for 1 to 2 minutes. This will assist in dissolving. |
| |
4. Wash the vehicle as usual. The use of a sponge or wash mitt will expedite the removal of (and paint overspray) from the surface. |
| |
Peelkleer Overspray Masking Liquid can be used in the body bay to protect vehicle surfaces from primer
Overspray. PEELKLEER can be used in the paint bay to protect vehicle surfaces from primer, sealer, color and
Clearcoat overspray. One gallon of PEELKLEER will cover approximately 400 square feet at 4.0 mils wet
Thickness (or about 4-5 average size vehicles per gallon). The proper wet application rate will yield a dry Film thickness of approximately 0.4 mils.
Do not use PEELKLEER on old oxidized paint surfaces, fabric tops and lacquer paints. Also, do not apply PEELKLEER over fresh paint (less than 30 days old).
PEELKLEER should not remain on the vehicle surface any longer than is absolutely required. This will Minimize the possibility of any damage to clear coat surfaces.
Vehicles coated with PEELKLEER should NOT be placed outdoors for any period of time. There are many Environmental and surface condition factors that can contribute to possible substrate damage.
- Heat and UV exposure can degrade PEELKLEER and bake the coating into the surface, making removal very
Difficult. This can also cause ghosting or hazing of the clearcoat.
- Moisture in the form of dew or rain may cause spotting or staining of the underlying clearcoat.
PEELKLEER can be used to protect tires from overspray. However, the tires must be in good condition.
PEELKLEER can be difficult to remove and cause staining on old, oxidized tires.
PEELKLEER can be used to protect the engine and engine compartment components from paint overspray.
However, the engine must be cool prior to PEELKLEER application. Also, the engine should not be started
Once the PEELKLEER has been applied as excessive engine heat will quickly bake the PEELKLEER film onto the Heated surfaces. This can lead to surface damage and removal difficulties. THOROUGHLY remove all PEELKLEER prior to starting the engine.
