Peelable Coating For Protecting
Parts During Shipping, Storage And
In Transit |
| |
Metalprotect_5000 is water based r
Peelable coating for protecting parts
during shipment, storage and in transit.
5000 is international standard for
protecting parts. 5000 is very easy to
apply strippable coating for the
protection of substrates from scratching
and marring .5000 is useful for
substrate protection during polishing,
handling and long term storage. |
| |
Available in transparent or solid
colors, these attractive coatings
not only protect, but are useful in
product identification and inventory
control. Numbers and information can
easily be seen through the
transparent coatings.
Metalprotect_5000 protects items
from rust and cushions items during
handling, storage, and shipping.
When it's time to use the item, just
peel off the coating. |

Introduction: Metal Protective
Coatings, Strippable Coatings
and Peelable coatings For
Shipping and Storage |
| |
Multi-metal protection :
A full
range of metal protecting
peelable coatings are available to
protect ferrous and non-ferrous
metals, including peelable coatings
that protect combinations of metals
for Short-term and long-term
protection.
We have
solution whether you need temporary
protection during in-plant
processing, medium-term protection
for shipment and storage, or
extended protection for lay-up,
mothballing, and field service. For
a variety of environmental
conditions. Now you can effectively
protect your metals and products
against humidity and aggressive
atmospheres as well as against
corrosive industrial, marine, and
tropical atmospheres.
Protected parts are immediately
ready for use when the peelable
coating is removed. l. No
degreasing, scraping, cleaning, or
further preparation is necessary
before processing, installation, or
use. Your protected components,
parts, and finished assemblies are
always ready for immediate use.

protects any size products,
components during process, or stored
parts in a small box, to large
containerized shipments. |

5000 represents the ultimate in
water-based removable coating
technology. It is stabilized against
brittleness and is not softened or
penetrated by most water-based
compounds. |

Application: Metal Protective
Coatings, Strippable Coatings
and Peelable coatings For
Shipping and Storage |
| |
Protective Coating Metalprotect_5000
should be used as received. It is
applied by airless spray, brushing
or dipping. The sprayed coating
dries to touch in 10 minutes or
less, depending on temperature and
film thickness. 5000 should be
applied to form a dry film in the
range of 1 to 3 mil (.001" to .003")
thick. Application temperature is
ambient to no lower than 50 F, as
drying times will be affected. |
| |
Application is easy. The coating
does not adhere to the item's
surface, but "envelopes" it in a
protective jacket. Aluminum foil or
a small piece of tape can be used to
seal any crevices or holes that the
plastic should not fill as it covers
the item. |

Curing: |
| |
5000 will cure tack-free within 10
minutes after application. This is
dependent upon temperature, humidity
and thickness of coating. Deviations
from application section will
require adjustments in the curing
times, as well as in the strip
ability parameters. |
| |
Curing may be accelerated by forced
drying. |
| |
It is imperative that 5000 be
thoroughly cured and dry, with no
water odor being emitted before an
attempt is made to strip the coating
from the substrate. Substrates
should not be stored in airtight
containers until the 5000 is
completely cured. |

| |
Storage: |
| |
5000 should be stored in the
original shipping container with
temperatures between 60 and 90
degrees F, in an explosion proof
environment. Containers should be
sealed until needed. Protection from
freezing is necessary. |

Removal: |
| |
5000 is readily removed from
surfaces by peeling. |

Operating Guidelines: |
| |
1.When applying, use the same
protection as used while applying
paint. Ventilation systems should be
operating while the material is
being sprayed.
| |
2.Chemical goggles, impervious
gloves and respirators should be
worn when handling 5000. |
| |
3.The use of non-sparking equipment
is advised when applying or removing

Pre-cleaning of Equipment: |
| |
To clean pressure pot, airless
equipment, spray guns, spray lines,
do the following: |
| |
1. Flush equipment and lines with a
paint thinner type material (ex.
toluene, xylene or mek). |
| |
2.Spray equipment is now ready for
use with 5000.... |
| |
3.To clean equipment, thoroughly
flush with the above type waters. |
