Chemical
spills in manufacturing and
laboratory environments
General Chemical’s
decontamination technologies
provide affordable, leading-edge
solutions that remove chemical
residues from virtually
any contaminated surface.
Designed for maximum safety and
effectiveness, these
leading-edge products are quick
and easy to use.
DeconPeel coating traps and
encapsulates a wide spectrum of
chemicals in easy to apply , no
requirement for pre-preparation
process allowing easy and safe
disposal without the use of
water. When dry, the product
locks the contaminants into a
polymer matrix. The film
containing the encapsulated
contamination can then be peeled
and disposed.
General chemical is a worldwide
supplier of decontamination
coating to reduce and clean up
hazardous residues from chemical
spills. Proven coatings and
cleaners are innovative,
economical and easy-to-use. They
are environment friendly, safe
to apply and easy to dispose.
Our products will work in
your laboratory safe practice ,
Decontamination and
Reutilization projects.
Decontamination of Chemical
Warfare Agents
In protection
against chemical warfare agents
the decontamination is an
important unavoidable part. The
aim of decontamination is to
rapidly and effectively render
harmless or remove poisonous
substances both on personnel and
equipment. High decontamination
capacity is one of the factors
which may reduce the effect of
an attack with CW agents. In
this way, it may act as a
deterrent.
General Chemical provides
PROTECTION for individuals and
property from chemicals in the
form of a SIMPLE solution that
provides IMMEDIATE response to a
BROAD array of chemical hazards.
Our products can be INTEGRATED
easily into existing response
plans and safety programs, but
best of all it is easy to train
,maintain and USE
General Chemical’s Hazard Safety
Program is an integrated safety
solution for an institution’s
chemical hazard needs.
PROTECTS students, faculty,
staff, and property

We
have had a small spill of
phenylacetic acid in a lab (MSDS
attached). The odor threshold of
phenylacetic acid is in the
single to tens ppb range. It's
not a particularly hazardous
chemical but it has been
impossible to get rid of the
odor. We have tried to
decontaminate with many
different chemical solutions and
still have the odor. The
chemical manufacturer has no
more recommendations for us.
Someone mentioned that one of
your products could be used as a
sealant for the contaminated
surfaces. Can you help?!

The odor problem has been
described as 90% better since we
first had the spill. I think
your product Deconpeel chemclean
5900 worked well and would
recommend it to others.-Erin
Chemical Decontamination, Chemical

Immediate control of the
contaminants - Locks the
contaminants within the coating
Environmental friendly, no waste
water and a minimal amount of solid
waste generated
Engineered
to Works on vertical and horizontal
surfaces
Safe...non
flammable.
Suitable
for virtually all substrates
including polycarbonates, plastic
and painted surfaces
Application:
Chemical
Decontamination,
Chemical Spill Cleanup,
Chemical Odor Remover
Theoretical Coverage at 25
mils.....50 Sq. ft./gal 2050 may
be applied with industrial spray
equipment (Preferred Method),
paint rollers or brushes.
DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900 is
normally used as received. It
can be applied by spray, roll or
brush .
DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900 may
also be diluted at the rate of
one to four ounces of water per
gallon or as needed for proper
application. The sprayed coating
dries, depending on the film
thickness, in 30 minutes to 4
hours. DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900
should be applied to yield a dry
film from one to ten mils (.001"
to .010") thick. The coating,
when totally dry, is resistant
to water and some solvents used
in paint. Application
temperatures range from 120º F.
for fast force cure to no lower
than 45º F.
DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900 cures
upon water evaporation. Faster
cure can be realized by
placement of air fans to remove
the water from the coating. The
coating when applied is milky
but when cured is totally
transparent. The milky
appearance is indicative of
water presence in the coating.
Brushes, rollers and spray
equipment can be cleaned with
water immediately after coating
application. The coating becomes
water resistant when clear .
Removal:
DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900 is
removed by peeling. Simply, pry
a piece of coating in one corner
and lift.
Flammability:
Water Resistant
DeconPeel_Chemiclean_5900
presents no fire hazard as
received, during, or after
application.
Disposal:
Follow local ,state and federal
regulations
Some Equipment Notes:
Air assisted spray equipment is
recommended for proper film
uniformity.
