AEROSPACE STRIPPABLE COATINGS,AEROSPACE Peelable masks,CLAY MODELING Introduction: High Temperature Protective Coatings, High Temperature Liquid Masking  Tape
General Chemical's High Temperature Protective Peelable coatings dries to form a contour-hugging skin-tight protective film.  customers and others recognized the value of protecting substrates during fabrication, assembly and shipment. The tough General Chemical's Peelable coating clear film is still the best method of preventing scratches and abrasions and strips cleanly away from the surface leaving no residue. It will also act as a maskant against paint overspray.

AEROSPACE STRIPPABLE COATINGS,AEROSPACE Peelable masks,CLAY MODELING HighTemp_coating_4880
GENERAL CHEMICAL’S high temperature protective peelable coating cures to form a contour-hugging skin tight protective film on metals, glass or ceramics. This film is extremely useful in protecting items from overspray, dirt, etc. which undergoes high temperature cycles. FOR INSTANCE: Metal hooks holding object to be painted become over sprayed.
SOLUTION:  Apply HighTemperatureCoating 4880 on the hooks and after a few cycles of spray the film with the over spray paint can be peeled and the hooks are clean for further use. 4880 can be applied with a brush, roller, dip or airless spray. The cure is upon water evaporation to a transparent blue coating. Above is the study of 4880 films at various high temperatures conditions W

AEROSPACE STRIPPABLE COATINGS,AEROSPACE Peelable masks,CLAY MODELING PlasticMask_7550

For processing plastic substrates at their melt points. PlasticMask 7550 is a water based peelable coating formulated for the protection of plastic substrates during and after the mold process. The coating is applied by roll, brush or air spray and allowed to cure—water evaporation.

Cured films protect the plastic substrates during the molding operations at temperatures up to 350F. PlasticMask films can be peeled while the substrate is warm or cool revealing a clean surfaces with no residues or scraches.

QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLICATION & INSTRUCTIONS FOR  PEELABLE COATINGS

Standard air assisted, or airless spray equipment, Brush or Roller (Use lambs wool roller).
Using standard good atomizing spray equipment (eg. DeVilbiss MBC gun, FF nozzle and No 765 air cap) with pressure feed, a 100 micron (0.004") film can be applied to a vertical surface in one coat. Atomization pressure of 5ATM (75lbs/sq in) and sufficient pot pressure (0.3 ATM - 5lbs/sq in) to obtain proper fluid delivery is recommended. Airless spray can also be used such as Graco No 205-904 with a 163-168 insert and a 28:1 ratio pump. Use water only for cleaning spray equipment. Drying can be accelerated by circulation of warm air or infra red lamps.
Aerospace Strippable Coatings, UV Curable Masking Resins Aerospace Special Instructions:
When spraying over freshly lacquered or re-enameled surfaces, allow 24 for lacquer to dry and allow full enamel cure before applying peelable coatings. Be sure to apply full film thickness of 100 microns (0.004"). On equipment to be stored for many months exposed to rain, sun and snow, it is recommended that a 200 micron (0.008") film of Strippable coating be applied in two coats, drying one hour between coats. This is a water based compound and should be protected from freezing. Recommended storage temperature is 10oC-32oC.

Try to avoid 'feather edges' or areas where it is applied thinly. In order to achieve a defined edge it may help to apply masking tape, roller up to and over the tape and remove tape while Our Peelable coatings Peelable coating is still wet.
Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Repair:

If the Our Peelable coating film rips or tears, the flap may be lifted and resealed by applying a fresh wet coat to the underside and resealing. Alternatively, cut away flap and re-apply fresh coating, it will bond to itself.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling External Weather Resistance:

Long-term exposure to sunlight will cause premature deterioration and brittleness of the film. Exposure to water   after the film is dried will soften the film but it will recover once it dries. Avoid traffic over the wet or while the film is wet. If components are to be stored externally for several weeks we recommend the application of acrylic topcoat which will protect for 12 months and more.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Drying Time:

It is critical that Our Peelable coating film is allowed to cure dry. Drying time will vary according to humidity, temperature and weather condition. The evaporation of water will be speeded by air movement and warmth supplied by natural and mechanical means.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Adhesion:
Our Peelable coatings is a temporary protective Peelable coating and adhesion is low.
Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Process:

Our Peelable coatings once completely dry are resistant to water and solvent and acts as a mask against sprayed emulsion paints, lacquers, oil or grease and water.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Removal:

The dry Our Peelable coatings strippable coating film can be easily removed either by hand stripping or other means. Our Peelable coatings  are thermoplastic. Do not try to remove in freezing conditions. Our Peelable coatings becomes brittle in freezing condition.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Clean Up:

Our Peelable coating is a water-based product and you can clean spray equipment and brushes with water. Do this immediately before peelable coating starts to dry.

Aerospace Strippable Coatings,Aerospace Peelable masks,Clay Modeling Coverage:

One liter will cover approximately 4 square meters at a dry film thickness of 100 microns. You can also use following chart to calculate in mil thickness and gallon coverage.

Approximate Square Feet Coverage Per Gallon of General Chemical's Peelable coatings:

Water Based coating's Wet films to Apply In Mils
