General Chemical's strippable
coatings dries to form a contour-hugging skin-tight protective film on various surfaces to protect from damage caused by staining, surface scratches from air hoses, electrical cables and hand tools. This prevents costly clean-up during and upon completion of construction.
The General Chemical peelable coating is a water borne non-toxic and non-hazardous product which is applied by lamb’s wool roller. It peels away cleanly leaving no residue and will not damage plastics or painted surfaces.
General Chemical strippable coating is also used to protect heavy traffic areas and sensitive surfaces against staining and abrasion during construction, storage and transport. Simply roll on and peel off on completion. The tough film is weather-resistant, UV and solvent resistant.
Because it is difficult to determine the type and condition of the surface, perform a small patch test first. It will determine the
peel ability of the coating on your particular surface, it will define the coverage and the approximate amount of time required for it to work and to remove off of surface. We offer no implied or other wise a warranty for our products. |

For glass doors ,windows ,concrete during construction.
The mirror surface of the lift for high buildings need to be covered and protected before installation and operation. Currently, most lift manufacturers cover and protect the mirror surface of their lifts by adhesive plastic films in China. Mirror front is glass, therefore our water based
WindOcoat 4930 (clear) or WindOcoat 4880 (blue) will work well for this application.
WindOcoat 4880 is formulated for warmer climate regions and 4930 is for cold regions. The big difference between the two
coatings is: WindOcoat 4930 will form a film at temperatures as low as 37F.
WindOcoat 4880 performs at 50F and above.
WindOcoat 4880 film are harder at temperatures exceeding 110F, 4930 films are soft at that point.
4880 (light blue
coating):
GENERAL PURPOSE Protective
peelable coatings for windows for low humidity or dryer areas. Cures to form good hard water resistant films. Best if applied at 60F to 115F and low humidity. 4880 film is hardest of the 3
WindOcoat products --- Peel in 60 -95F. Will peel at up to 105F.
WindOcoat_4930 : (clear
coating) specifically formulated for AREAS WITH HIGH HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURES IN MID TO HIGH THIRTIES F. This product will cure under these conditions and will be pliable with good peel. 4930 films are more pliable and softest – can be applied as low as 40 -115F. Peel 55 – 80. Very stretchy past 80F. 4930 is a economical alternative to 5980 .4930 will not be strippable on wood or plastic stocks.
WindOcoat_5980 For Windows Manufacturers and Builders: 5980 is designed to apply a temporary protective
peelable coatings for windows, which also protects primed wood window frames during the manufacturing and construction process. Properties more similar to 4880 but can be used on vinyl and painted surfaces.
WindOcoat 5980 can be used in cold as well as hot weather conditions – 35 to 100F. 5980 is all purpose and can be used on plastic, painted wood and glass.

Standard air assisted, or airless spray equipment, Brush or Roller (Use lambs wool roller).
Apply to achieve a minimum wet film thickness of 250 microns = 100 microns DFT (dry film thickness). IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ACHIEVE AN EVEN DFT OF MIN 100 MICRONS. As anything less may result in the film becoming difficult to remove.
Try to avoid 'feather edges' or areas where it is applied thinly. In order to achieve a defined edge it may help to apply masking tape, roller up to and over the tape and remove tape while BoatPeel
peelable coating is still wet.
The strippable coating should be applied at around 150 microns min. DFT or heavier over rough surfaces or areas of heavy foot traffic. |

Repair: |
If the dry film rips or tears, the flap may be lifted and resealed by applying a fresh wet coat to the underside and resealing. Alternatively, cut away flap and re-apply fresh
coating, it will bond to itself. |
External Weather Resistance: |
Long-term exposure to sunlight will cause premature deterioration and brittleness of the film. Exposure to water after the film is dried will soften the film but it will recover once it dries. Avoid traffic over the wet or while the film is wet. If components are to be stored externally for several weeks we recommend the application of acrylic topcoat which will protect for 12 months and more. |

Drying Time: |
It is critical that
peelable coating film is allowed to cure dry. Drying time will vary according to humidity, temperature and weather condition. The evaporation of water will be speeded by air movement and warmth supplied by natural and mechanical means. |
Adhesion: |
BoatPeel is a temporary protective
peelable coating and adhesion is low. |

"We are looking for some type of Industrial
coating to protect our rental equipment from paint overspray and concrete. We need to be able to remove this
coating for the next rental. Can you help us?? Thanks!! ""We used some of your Stripaway 5140, and the stuff works great. It sprayed on cloudy, but when it cured it was clear. It surprised us all. I'll recommend this stuff to any rental outfit or painter."
