Marbleshield 4580 film protects
granite, marble, tile and other
non-porous surfaces from scratches and
damage. Marbleshield 4580 is useful in
both commercial and residential
construction.
Marbleshield 2810 For
synthetic Marble surface coated with
GelCOat .
For synthetic Marble
surface coated with GelCOat.This water
based peelable coating cures upon water
evaporation to water resistant clear film
that is easy to peel from gel coat
surfaces. The cured films are tight to
water penetration but are not tight to
breathe. Our experience on gel coats is
based on similar films exposure to
exterior environment for 12 months in
Michigan after which the coating was
peeled and the surface was examined.
Excellent results: easy peel and no
yellowing to the white gel coat surface.
Countertops: Replacing a
countertop can significantly delay
construction not to mention the labor
and material costs. That's why Marbleshield 4580
is applied to protect laminate,
solid surfaces, granite, marble or
specialty surfaces from scratches,
gouges and abrasion.

Marbleshield 4580 is normally used as received. It can be applied by spray, roll or brush . Marbleshield 4580 may also be diluted at the rate of one to four ounces of water per gallon or as needed for proper application. The sprayed coating dries, depending on the film thickness, in 30 minutes to 4 hours. Marbleshield 4580 should be applied to yield a dry film from one to ten mils (.001" to .010") thick. The coating, when totally dry, is resistant to water and some solvents used in paint. Application temperatures range from 120º F. for fast force cure to no lower than 45º F. Marbleshield 4580 cures upon water evaporation. Faster cure can be realized by placement of air fans to remove the water from the coating. The coating when applied is milky but when cured is totally transparent. The milky appearance is indicative of water presence in the coating. Brushes, rollers and spray equipment can be cleaned with water immediately after coating application. The coating becomes water resistant when clear .
Customer Questions :
1.
I did
purchase the liquid masking coating
for marble and stone surfaces. It’s an unusual application I
am sure, but we installed a new
kitchen backsplash with a
green/white marble tile and the
grout color is a dark green. When testing grout on tile
samples I had problems with the
marble absorbing the grout into
surface of the tile and turning the
white marble dark and greenish muddy
looking. It was not good.Reading up on tiling I found
that natural stones and marbles will
absorb grout unless you seal the
surface.I tried various tile sealers
sold for this purpose and none of
them worked well and the tile always
ended up dark and blotchy. So, in desperation, I started
looking outside the box of
traditional tiling methods and was
looking for something that I could
coat the face of the tile with,
grout and then remove again.I came across your liquid
masking coatings through an internet
search.
To wrap up a
long story, the coating works
tremendously well.It went on easy with a simple
paint roller (a small detail roller
with a short nap) and does a great
job at minimizing the absorption of
the grout.I was very pleased with the
results of all of my sample pieces.I did find that I needed to
use multiple, thin coats, about 2-3
coats, for the best results, but the
can of coating I purchased goes a
long way so I have more than enough. The coating peels off really
easily and actually reduces the
effort to wash the grout haze off
the tile, as the haze is on the
coating, not the tile. The final backsplash grouting
is going to take place sometime over
the next two weeks, but I am
confident I have found a perfect
solution to the problem.Great product! Thanks so much. Brenda
2. kindly provide the Proforma for the white pigment version.
Would really appreciate if you could advise:
a) can the Marbleshield surface we gently washed without being stripped off?
b) Approximate expected “life-length”?
Also, please do advise if you are interested in having an agent in Singapore. Looks like you have some very unique products which will definitely have a good market here. Sincerely,
