This water based coating is meant
for Nuclear Power Plant Industry:
One coating does it all! |

| |
When Cured:
Water resistant,
alkali resistant and
heat resistant. |
| |
DeconPeel 5201 is water based
peelable coating with ZERO halogens and ZERO VOC. This coating is normally
applied with airless spray to a minimum of 10 mils wet coating, about when
the hiding of the substrate occurs. The coating cures upon water
evaporation. The film cures to a white glossy film, hard and flexible water
resistant film. The product is used as a protector of objects from
contamination by covering the object that will be contaminated and then
spraying this coating again to sandwich the contaminants. Removal is by
peeling. Dispose properly. DeconPeel 5201 is also used on contaminated
surfaces for decontamination. Apply the product with airless spray to
proper thickness. Let the water evaporate. The coating encompasses
contaminants into the film mass and removal is by peeling. 5201 is
formulated to protect metals from oxidation. |

DeconPeel_5201
represents the ultimate in non-solvent water based strippable coatings. It
is well
stabilized against brittleness and it will not be softened or
penetrated by solvent-based paints. |

Results in a reduction
of labor costs by reducing the application time. |
Once cured, it provides an extremely tough,
uniform film thickness. |
Curing time can be cut in half with the use
of increasing temperatures up to 100?F. |
Easily removed...peels off in
sheets which eliminates messy hand scrapping |
Safe...non flammable |

 How To Apply:
Halogen Free Decontamination coating with corrosion Protection For The
Radioactive Decontamination And Chemical Spills |
| |
DeconPeel 5201 should
be used as received. It can be applied by airless spray, roller or brush.
The sprayed coating dries to touch in 60 minutes or less, depending on
temperature and film thickness. DeconPeel 5201 should be applied to form a
dry film in the range of 5 to 10 mils (.005" to .01") thick. Application
temperature is important for drying times. Warm, dry air flowing over the
coating will remove water quickly. . |
| |
| 1. |
Apply 10-12 mils wet water
based peelable film to clean, dry peelable (booth walls, fixtures)
in a smooth, continuous spray. If using airless equipment, use .015
or .017 nozzle at a set pressure of 1200-1500 PSI. With conventional
air spray, we recommend Binks nozzle #68PB with needle #368 at a
pressure of 35-55 PSI. |
| 2. |
After significant paint overspray buildup,
film may be quickly and easily removed. Cut film to start peeling
from one corner. Production time between cleaning is increased;
quality control is improved with better illumination. |
| 3. |
Simply peel off in large, continuous
sheets. Booth is left clean and ready for next application. Messy
hand scraping or solvent removal eliminated. Clean-up is fast. Waste
disposal costs cut. |
| 4. |
The coating provides a tough, flexible
solvent-resistant film which protects booth walls, paint fixtures,
metal parts in storage, or any non-porous metal surface from paint
overspray. |
| |
DeconPeel_5201 is normally used as received. The airless spray gun equipment
applies it, by roller coating or by brushing. Sprayed strippable coating is
air-dried from 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on thickness of coating.
DeconPeel_5201 is usually applied to form a film,
thickness in the range of 1 to 3 mils (.001" to .003"). Strippable Coating
is usually resistant to attack by paint solvents. Spraying temperature shall
be 60? F minimum. For best results, apply at room temperature. |
Removal: |
| |
DeconPeel_5201 is developed to be removed by peeling it off. |
Flammability: |
| |
Water rinsable
DeconPeel_5201 presents no fire hazard either as received
or during or after application. |
Disposal: |
| |
During removal, water
hose-down type coatings will oftentimes be mixed into the paint spray booth
water compound system. DeconPeel_5201 coating is normally
compatible with this kind of system. |
| |
DeconPeel_5201 is uniquely formulated excluding ingredients that are
deleterious to the painting process (such as silicones) or the water washes
system (such as foam generation or stabilizing ingredients). |
| |
Operating Guidelines: |
| |
1.When applying
DeconPeel_5201, use the same protection as used while applying paint.
| |
2.Chemical goggles and
impervious gloves should be worn when handling or mixing. |
| |
First Time Application: |
| |
If the Our peelable
coating film rips or tears, the flap may be lifted and resealed by applying
a fresh wet coat to the underside and resealing. Alternatively, cut away
flap and re-apply fresh coating, it will bond to itself.

I. Pre-cleaning of
Equipment: |
| |
To clean pressure pot,
airless equipment, spray guns, spray lines, do the following:
| |
1.Flush equipment and
lines with current paint thinner (ex. Toluene, MEK, Xylene, etc.) |
| |
2.Follow with a water
reducible solvent such as Butyl Cellosolve. This will help remove solvent
residue. |
| |
3.Now thoroughly rinse
with water. Make sure all solvent and paint residue is removed. |
| |
Some Equipment Notes: |
| |
Airless System:
Recommended tip size is .070. Similar to a glue tip will suffice.
| |
Pressure Pot:
DeconPeel_5201 works well under the following conditions.
Pot pressure at 10-15 psi while atomization pressure is 40 psi. If a cloud
effect occurs the pressure is too high. try to control this at the spray
gun. If that fails turn down the pressure a the pressure pot.
| |
DeconPeel_5201 can also be applied by rolling coating or by brushing. |
